Commissioned by: Parkstad Limburg (2022)
Objective: Study how intergenerational transmission of poverty can be prevented
The Regio Deal Parkstad Limburg was launched in 2019. Regio Deals aim to increase broad prosperity in the regions concerned. Families living in poverty is a high concern in Parkstad Limburg. The level of poverty varies greatly from one neighbourhood and district to another.
As part of the Regio Deal Parkstad Limburg, Neimed, the Socio-Economic Knowledge Centre was asked by Parkstad Limburg to conduct qualitative research into the intergenerational transmission of poverty, the crucial transmission moments of poverty from parents to children, and possible policy interventions. Regional Capital contributed to this through a literature review and focus groups with experts and professionals. The outcomes are described in report form.
